Grindley were engaged by Chevalier College to complete the construction of a new Multi-Purpose Hall and alterations and additions to the existing Performing Arts Centre.
The Multi-Purpose Hall incorporates a multi games court for basketball, netball, volleyball and badminton, laid out over a new timber sprung flooring system. The hall also includes a retractable seating unit for 700 seats to facilitate school assemblies and masses held by the College. Works also involved the construction of new classrooms, offices and amenities and a new on grade external carpark fronting Charlotte Street.
Grindley also undertook alterations and additions to the existing Performing Arts Centre on the schools campus. Theatre works involved structural modifications and extensions to the existing stage area, new audio visual systems, new tiered seating, acoustic wall linings, a green room and practice rooms, as well as offices and amenities. Externally, the building was finished with ramps and stairs adjoining the surrounding landscape.
Works also involved an upgrade of the existing submains and the installation and commissioning of a new in-slab hydronic heating system within the new buildings.
