SITA Waste Management Facility

Green waste and AWT (Alternative Waste Technologies) facility, for use by Penrith and Liverpool Councils. Capacity 134,000+ tonnes/year. The project will have significant impact on green house gases by diverting a minimum 60% to 70% of waste from landfill. This is the equivalent of taking around 19,000 vehicles off the road and reducing green house gas emissions by 75,000 tonnes of CO2e per year. The facility will recover metal, paper and plastic recycling as well as compost green waste and residual food waste to produce compost for use in commercial markets, forestry, agriculture and land remediation activities.
