2012 Australian Steel Institute NSW & ACT Steel Design Awards – Steel Clad Structures, Steel Design (Awarded to Richard Kirk Architect)
New architecturally designed Fitzgibbon Community Centre comprising of two halls, tenancy, office space, with associated kitchen, amenities and terrace.
An external maintenance shed was also constructed with the design in keeping with the main building.
The native bushland backdrop provided the perfect compliment to the architectural design, which incorporated naturally weathering steel external cladding.

"The Fitzgibbon Community Centre design is detail driven and unforgiving to site setout errors. This was not a problem for the Grindley team – the finished product is of a very high standard. The works were managed in an efficient and professional manner. The team was very responsive to design issues and provided excellent solutions to problems when they arose. This award winning building is a credit to the Grindley team."
